Returning and Seeing Anew is an interactive piece which has me returning to Europe and in particular Barcelona, Spain. A place I love that I first visited over 30 years ago. I see traditional and modern striking a balance. The old and the new enchant me, there is the Gothic Quarter and incredible modernism architecture dominates the neighborhood of L’Example. Antonio Gaudi is a visionary, with his Park Guell, the Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila and the Casa Batllo. I view windows that become a method of viewing/framing with many things some with hats, and fabulous hats in paintings. I witness people walking, talking, and living. I experience a sneeze that liberates my tooth. There is a monument to Columbus, the question of who discovered whom. Once when I arrive in Barcelona, a young man met me with a huge bouquet of red carnations handed them to me and said “The Flowers of Hemingway”. Pope Bendict VI comes to consecrate Sagrada Familia, and he is met by both supporters and protestors. Spiderman Seems To Be Everywhere. Spiderman a nice boy from Queens could do very well here in Barcelona. I invite you to look and see. This is a work in progress.
